Glam Travel: 5 Haute Travel Beauty Picks for the Summer

Summer’s here and it’s time for all of us to get travel ready. Whether you are trekking to a beach, traveling to a festival, taking in some foreign sites, or getting your travel on family style, it is a must that you do so fabulously. Around the World in Pink was created for the woman who likes to jet-set while putting their best foot forward, so we’ve got a list for you of 5 Haute Beauty Travel Picks for the Summer. These items have been handpicked by us and are perfect for any excursion you will be going on this summer. So without further adieu, here’s the list:   1. Panasonic Ionic Facial Steamer I swear by this steamer! I received it as a freebie during CES earlier this year and I promise you, it is one of my favorite beauty items ever. The steamer works to help remove makeup and dirt while opening your pores so that your facial products can work to the maximum benefit. Check out my full review of the Panasonic Ionic Facial Steamer here. 2. Laura Mercier Secret Concealer If you are looking for something that is light but offers maximum coverage for dark spots and discoloration, then Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer works magic. And it’s perfect for the summer weather and won’t come off if you sweat a little. You can use it for light, medium, or heavy coverage. $23.00, Laura Mercier. 3. MAC Lipstick in Heroine Heroine is by far my favorite MAC lippy. It’s a brilliant matte purple that is perfect for the summertime, and it’s long lasting and long wear. Perfect for beach outings, nighttime flings, whatever your fancy. And what I like most about it is that it looks good on just about every skin tone. I wear it often and always get compliments on the color. $16.00, MAC Cosmetics 4. Dermalogica Precleanse Wipes   I am a huge fan of Dermalogica skin products. I have oily skin that tends to break out, and their products are the only ones that help me stay clear. Their precelanse wipes are perfect to remove dirt and oil before the cleansing process (I use these prior to the Panasonic Facial Steamer). And since they are wipes, are cool to the touch and can be refreshing during hot summer days. $18.00, Dermalogica. 5. The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask   I just started using The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask after getting a sample of it at ULTA and it has now become a part of my regimen. It’s perfect for twice a week usage and works to soothe and cool the skin and lifts away dirt and oil. It’s become one of my staples. $15.50, The Body Shop. I hope you find our list of 5 Haute Beauty Travel Picks for the Summer useful. What products do you swear by during...

Top Reasons to Visit the St. Louis Zoo

Top Reasons to Visit the St. Louis Zoo

I can’t lie, the boychild and I love going to the zoo! Last year while we were in St. Louis visiting Danyelle, we took the kiddos to the St. Louis Zoo! St. Louis Zoo is a pretty large zoo spread over 90 acres of land with over 18000 animals from 700 species. There’s so much to see that it was hard for us to cover the entire zoo in one day. The kids had a ball! We did everything from checking out the penguins and flamingos to the monkeys. After all, you can’t go to the zoo without checking out the monkeys. Between visiting the animals the kids got a chance to ride on the carousel! What kid doesn’t love a carousel. What I loved most about the zoo was the fact that all the animals were out and about. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to the zoo only to find no animals… sigh! While at the St. Louis Zoo we also got a chance to touch the stingrays.  If your child is adventurous they will love getting an up, close and personal look at the stingrays with the zookeeper. While you are there don’t forget to check out the of children’s zoo. It’s fun for kids of all ages. Lastly, make sure you check out the Zooline Railroad, this is the quickest and easiest way to see the entire zoo if you aren’t up for all of that walking. If those aren’t enough reasons to visit the St. Louis Zoo, just remember zoo admission is free! I don’t know if that excites you but it definitely excites me as it costs almost $20 to go to the zoos here in Chicago, there is a fee for special attractions. If you want to check out the special attractions, I suggest getting the Safari Pass, it’s only $12 and gives you access to all the attractions. So the next time you are in St. Louis, make sure the St. Louis Zoo is on your...

RoadTrippin: Hitting the Road in the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Disclosure: I was loaned this vehicle in exchange for my social influence and honest review. The opinions in this review belong to me and are not indicative of the companies or brands mentioned. While trekking Atlantic City, New Jersey for the Memorial Day weekend, I was loaned the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport to enjoy and review. I hadn’t had many experiences with Mitsubishi, so I was anxious to get acquainted with the brand and their family friendly four door vehicle with four wheel drive. When it comes to navigating through hilly terrains and difficult weather while looking sleek and sporty, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport nails it. It drives like a heavy duty truck, but gives you a ride that seats for comfortably. It is also small enough to be good on gas and fit into tights spots—but big enough to get through less than pleasant weather. During our road trip to Atlantic City, it rained most of the way, shifting from light rain to a heavy torrential downpour. I always felt in control of the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and while we did hit some hilly areas, I was able to get through without a problem. I most enjoyed the size of the vehicle—perfect for a small family. I can see this car being used on trips, long or short, or just while running day-to-day errands and such. It boasts a pretty nice sized trunk area for light to moderate luggage. The car I was given didn’t have a navigational system included, although I believe you can purchase one as an upgrade. It also has an awesome Rockford Fosgate stereo system and speakers which makes it an awesome vehicle to listen to sounds in. Here are other features of the 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport: Rear-View Camera System 7 Airbag Safety System Sirius-XM radio Heated side-view mirrors Auto-off halogen lights Four-wheel or All-wheel drive The 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport  gets an average of 24 city miles and 31 highway miles. Learn more about the vehicle here. We had an awesome time during our Memorial Day weekend trip (click here to read more about it). Next, I will be reviewing the 2015 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD. Stay tuned! Special thanks to Rod and Josh at STI for the...
