Essie Color Boutique Makes it Easy to Get Fab While Traveling

While flying out of  Oakland International Airport last week, I saw something that caught my eye when walking to my gate. It was a beautiful vision for someone like myself who loves beauty items, fashion, and style. It was an Essie Color Boutique filled with Essie colors. Essie is one of my favorite nail color brands, and I loved seeing that they had incorporated their polishes in a cute self-serve beauty kiosk that is perfect for gals on the go like myself. What a treat! I’ve seen plenty of self-serve kiosks whilst traveling. Best Buy, Straight Talk, and even Benefit Cosmetics are ones that I see the most often at the airport. But Oakland’s Airport was the first time that I had seen Essie’s offering. It had me at hello! Essie Boutique is complete with a touch screen that lets you see the color swatch and select which colors you want to purchase. It is user friendly and offers the latest in their nail color collections, plus standbys and old faves that we can’t get enough of. A nail polish vending machine? Why didn’t I think of that? Essie’s polishes are $8.00 each (in the machine I saw). This is perfect for long layovers flights. Simply purchase a color of your choice and do your nails while at the gate, or while in the air. I say brilliant! What are your thoughts? Would you purchase nail polish from the Essie Boutique at the airport? Or do you think it’s a little too much fabulosity? Chime in below in the comment section. 🙂 There’s an @essie “boutique” in the Oakland Airport. Swoons! #travel #BlogHer14 pic.twitter.com/2fStkEHPt3 — Danyelle Little (@TheCubicleChick) July 27,...

Glam Travel: 5 Haute Travel Beauty Picks for the Summer

Summer’s here and it’s time for all of us to get travel ready. Whether you are trekking to a beach, traveling to a festival, taking in some foreign sites, or getting your travel on family style, it is a must that you do so fabulously. Around the World in Pink was created for the woman who likes to jet-set while putting their best foot forward, so we’ve got a list for you of 5 Haute Beauty Travel Picks for the Summer. These items have been handpicked by us and are perfect for any excursion you will be going on this summer. So without further adieu, here’s the list:   1. Panasonic Ionic Facial Steamer I swear by this steamer! I received it as a freebie during CES earlier this year and I promise you, it is one of my favorite beauty items ever. The steamer works to help remove makeup and dirt while opening your pores so that your facial products can work to the maximum benefit. Check out my full review of the Panasonic Ionic Facial Steamer here. 2. Laura Mercier Secret Concealer If you are looking for something that is light but offers maximum coverage for dark spots and discoloration, then Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer works magic. And it’s perfect for the summer weather and won’t come off if you sweat a little. You can use it for light, medium, or heavy coverage. $23.00, Laura Mercier. 3. MAC Lipstick in Heroine Heroine is by far my favorite MAC lippy. It’s a brilliant matte purple that is perfect for the summertime, and it’s long lasting and long wear. Perfect for beach outings, nighttime flings, whatever your fancy. And what I like most about it is that it looks good on just about every skin tone. I wear it often and always get compliments on the color. $16.00, MAC Cosmetics 4. Dermalogica Precleanse Wipes   I am a huge fan of Dermalogica skin products. I have oily skin that tends to break out, and their products are the only ones that help me stay clear. Their precelanse wipes are perfect to remove dirt and oil before the cleansing process (I use these prior to the Panasonic Facial Steamer). And since they are wipes, are cool to the touch and can be refreshing during hot summer days. $18.00, Dermalogica. 5. The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask   I just started using The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask after getting a sample of it at ULTA and it has now become a part of my regimen. It’s perfect for twice a week usage and works to soothe and cool the skin and lifts away dirt and oil. It’s become one of my staples. $15.50, The Body Shop. I hope you find our list of 5 Haute Beauty Travel Picks for the Summer useful. What products do you swear by during...

Travel Plans Include Laying in The Sun? Try Olay Moisturizers with SolaSheer Technology

Summer is almost upon us and I couldn’t be happier! I just knew if I continued to wish upon a star, the summer gods would hear my prayer. We all know with warmer weather comes skin-damaging sun rays. Since I know all of you are in the middle of planning your summer vacations on the beach, I want to remind you to take care of your skin. People put all that work into losing weight to fit into their bikini yet leave there skin susceptible to harsh summer rays. Over the last few weeks, I’ve been playing around with Olay Moisturizers with SolaSheer Technology. I’ve been applying Olay Moisturizer to my  skin every morning and it has done wonders for my skin and it’s elasticity. Since 80% of UV exposure is a result of incidental sun exposure, like walking to work or driving in your car, it is important to incorporate SPF into your daily routine. This season, Olay arms you with the tools you need to make that task easier than ever. A number of Olay’s daily moisturizers with SPF are now formulated with SolaSheer Technology, which combines broad spectrum SPF protection with proven moisturizing agents. The result is nourished, moisturized skin, protected against harmful UVA/UVB rays. Olay Moisturizers with SolaSheer Technology: ·         Total Effects Daily Moisturizer + SPF 30 (NEW) ·         Total Effects Daily Moisturizer + SPF 15 with SolaSheer Technology ·         Complete All Day Moisturizer SPF 15 with SolaSheer Technology The best thing you can do for your skin is to protect it, I’ve been applying Olay  Moisturizer with Sunscreen to my skin daily. In 2 weeks, I’ve noticed my skin isn’t as dry, and dull. I also love how my tone is starting to even back out from the harsh winter weather we experienced here in Chicago. Whether you are heading to a beach resort or just plan on soaking up so rays make sure you protect your...

How to Avoid Gaining Weight While Traveling

I won’t tell you guys how many times I’ve went on vacation only to come home and realize I’ve gained 5 extra pounds while I was traveling. How I could kick myself for not enjoying things in moderation! You know what I’m talking about all those cocktails and late night meals! I know, I’m not the only one. Staying active while traveling has never been a challenge for me, because we usually pick destinations that require a lot of walking. When you think about all the calories and cocktails you consumed those calories can really add up. There is nothing worse than gain weight while on vacation, so you really need to be careful.   Here are a few tips to curb those extra vacation pounds. Eat Breakfast– This is so important, a good breakfast can give you the extra energy you need to keep the party going. Bring Healthy Snacks-That’s right stock up on fruit and vegetables to take with you while you and your girls are out site seeing, this will help you stay on track and reduce unnecessary snacking. Drink Plenty of Water-After all  there aren’t any calories in water, it’s the best option to help you stay hydrated and feeling full. Plus it will help you flush out all those toxins in your system. Take Your Workout Clothes– Try getting up early and hitting the gym in your hotel. This way you can get your metabolism ready for a day full of fun. Keep It Moving-That’s right you want to keep your body moving as much as possible. Instead of taking an elevator take the stairs, whatever you need to do to keep the blood flowing. Hold Yourself Accountable-For me, I like to wear my Fitbit when I travel because it tells me  how many steps I have taken each day. I  have a daily goal of 10k, so my Fitbit helps me monitor and keep track of my progress. Remember it’s the little steps you take that will help you avoid gaining a million pounds while on vacation. There’s nothing worse than being unable to fit your clothes when you come home. While you do want to track and monitor your progress, remember you are on vacation, so it’s ok to let loose and have fun. Just make sure you don’t overdo it....
