Travel Tech: Sony SmartWatch 2 Review

We here at Around the World in Pink, love tech, especially tech that makes our lives easier. Recently, I was sent the Sony SmartWatch 2 for review and I must say I’m quite impressed. This watch puts the apps and plugins you need at the tip of your fingers; for me the Sony SmartWatch 2 was an extension of my smartphone. I was able to do just about everything I do with my smartphone on my SmartWatch 2. Setting up the SmartWatch 2  was very easy using NSF technology.  All I did was tap the back of my watch to my cellphone and that was it, the phone was paired to my watch and was ready for use. Once my watch and phone was connected, I was ready to put the SmartWatch 2 to the test. With the Sony SmartWatch 2 I was able to make calls, view my call log, check Facebook and so much more all from my watch.  I loved being able to make calls from the watch, it was so futuristic to me. The battery life on the SmartWatch 2 was good as well, the battery life ranged between 3-6 days depending on how much you use the watch.  So no need to run to a charger every few hours, the SmartWatch 2 will stay powered for days at a time. In a previous post, I discussed tips on how not to gain weight while traveling.  The Sony SmartWatch 2 is a great watch that will help  you avoid putting the pounds on.  I used the pedometer app on my phone in conjunction with the watch to tell me if I  was reaching my daily 10k step goal.  You can use the SmartWatch 2 to track your food usage or listen to music while you are working out, the options really are endless. Whether you are you need to check your calendar or read your email, the Smart Watch 2 keeps you connected. The SmartWatch 2 is also water resistant and sunlight readable, all of these features make the SmartWatch 2 perfect for travel.  And I almost forgot the most important part, not only does the Sony SmartWatch 2 come in variety of colors but it comes in pink and you know were are all about that pink life. My Top 5 Favorite Apps When Traveling

When traveling there are certain things a girl must have to keep her mind pre-occupied! I already told you guys how much I hate flying so whenever it’s time to take the show on the road, I have a list of apps that make the traveling process much easier. We all have those special things that we like to do  when traveling so some of these apps make work for you and some may not. The key is to find the apps that you not only like but that will make your travel experience as enjoyable as possible. So here are my top 5 app must haves: Spotify-I can’t lie, I love Spotify. I have this app downloaded on all my phones, tablets, etc., I love the fact that I can pick and choose what I want to listen to when I want to listen to it. So for me Spotify is the perfect traveling companion. Fitbit-When I’m traveling I like to get as much exercise as possible so it’s very important that I carry with me my pedometer. My Fitbit allows me to see how many steps and calories I’ve taken and burned for the day. The app also lets me know when I’ve hit my daily  10k step goal. Netflix– My son probably uses this app more than me but it’s good to have it you are interested in catching a movie while on the road or on a flight! Banking App– In this day and age every bank has an app! This is how I keep up with the money I’m spending while traveling. It’s so easy to lose track of spending when you are away from home so it’s important for me to have something that lets me see how and where I’m spending my money. Social Media Apps-I can’t lie as a blogger, I’m addicted to all things social media. I have Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vine and a few others to help me stay social when I’m traveling. While I know it’s important to disconnect I still like feeling like you guys are there with me on my adventures so I make sure I have all of my social media apps available. Southwest App-For me I only fly Southwest. They have the best prices plus you can fly with 2 bags for free so having this app on my devices is a must. Now,  everyone doesn’t fly Southwest so download which ever carrier you use frequently but make sure you have it. These apps can alert you when there has been a change to your flight, check your travel rewards, book flights and so much more so make sure you download yours before you head out on your next flight. These are my top 5 apps when I’m traveling, my next post I will tell you my top 5 when traveling with...

Travel Accessories: Phone Cases by Incipio

If you are anything like me then  you probably drop your cellphone at least once a week. If I’m not dropping my phone then the boychild is dropping it which is why it’s important to have a good case to protect everybody’s prized possession. There is nothing worse than a broken cellphone, especially when you are traveling and need your phone the most. For the longest I’ve been using phone cases by Incipio Technologies, not only are they durable but they are long lasting. Incipio offers cases for all types of phone from the iPhone 5 to the Samsung Galaxy 4, there is a case for everyone. Not only does Incipio protect your phone but they also come in a large variety of colors and prints. You even have the option to customize your own case if that’s your thing. I also like the fact that Incipio carries phone cases that fit your travel lifestyle. Whether you need a case that’s waterproof because you will be hanging by the pool or you need a case that has a battery pack because you will be laying on the beach, Incipio has what you need. I’ve been using the Impact Resistant case and it definitely lives up to it’s name. As much as I’ve dropped my iPhone it still works like a charm. I’ve been using them since I attended CES in 2013 and I’m obsessed. Not only are the cases great quality but the prices are reasonable. Of course I picked out the best pink ones because hey that’s what AWIP is all about! But just in case pink isn’t your thing they have a huge variety of other colors as well. So if you plan on taking your show on the road then make sure your phone is covered and if not check out Incipio to find a case that’s suitable for all your travel needs. I promise  you won’t be disappointed, you can thank me...
